What you need to know

The Shakti Headband targets key acupressure points around the sides and back of the head to help you:
• Relieve mild headaches
• Soothe a tight jaw
• Maintain focus and mental clarity

There are two key ways to use your Headband:
1. Across the centre of your forehead to relieve head tension
2. Under your chin with the spikes targeting tension in your jawA light wrap is all you need for each spike to get started. Wear it for at least 15 minutes and let all that tension melt with each breath.
If you already own a Shakti Mat or Pillow, adding your Headband to your practice is a great meditation aid. You can also use it for a deeper savasana, or mental clarity at your WFH space.
Pro tip
• Take the pressure up a notch by wrapping the Headband under the base of your skull and resting your occipital bone on a yoga block.
• Experiment with the intensity once you’re used to the sensation by tightening or loosening the strap

Pressing spikes into your face might look like the opposite of relaxing, but the Headband is designed to provide subtle pressure. There will be a slight sensation in the beginning, but that’s completely normal. Acupressure doesn’t work if you can’t feel it.
Circulation will increase and you’ll feel tension “let go” as pressure lifts from your head.

Shakti Headbands have Light spikes. Why? Because wrapping spikes is different to lying on them. You can adjust the intensity with compression as opposed to relying on gravity alone. Perfect whether you want to increase the intensity of each spike – or ease off for a therapeutic touch.

As someone with hEDS and ASD, headaches and migraines are frequent occurrences for me. This headband is perfect whenever they crop up, you can adjust the pressure, and even have it focus on your forehead, the side of your head, or the base of your skull. The light pain helps detract from the headache/migraine pain, making life more bearable in these moments. It's so helpful, it lives in my bedside table and I take it whenever I travel. Absolutely love it - also love the spikey ring for fidgeting!
